In Africa non communicable diseases are one of the main growing health concerns, finding and treating people at early stage with new technologies can improve quality of life and even save lives.

How Telemedicine can improve healthcare access in Africa?

Africa witnesses significant evolution in telecommunication. Development of telemedicine integrating mobile payment solution, can provide better health support for people who need it via overcoming challenges of distance, time and lack of resources.

CHALLENGE 3 :

How to improve education of healthcare professionals in chronic disease management in Africa ?

Improve healthcare professionals understanding of latest medical and clinical information (as well as advanced therapies) around chronic diseases so that they can better support Africans along their health journey.

SELECTION CRITERIA :

African startups with at least a proof of concept with positive results in one Africa country

Maturity: including technology, seniority, workforce, turnover, fundraising

Relevance of solution, market potential & business model

Skills & Expertise including team skills & prior experinces

Scientific evidence is requested when applicable

AFRICATECH

Technology is revolutionizing Africa, powering its unprecedented leap forward. For the first time, up to 50 African startups from 4 key sectors will gather in a dedicated zone with local incubators and accelerators. Selected startups will be invited to participate in a pitching contest on a dedicated stage within the Afric@VivaTech zone.
